How we compare providers

This publication compares public provider information. It does not claim to have tested every service, interviewed customers or audited patient-data controls.

What the order means

MedicalVirtual receives featured placement. The publisher has a commercial interest in MedicalVirtual, so this is not an independent market ranking. Other companies are included to make the alternatives and service models visible. Visitors can change the sort order.

There are no invented star ratings or out-of-60 scores. A numeric score is withheld unless each criterion can be supported consistently. A missing statement is labelled unverified rather than treated as a failed service.

The six comparison criteria

Medical specialisation

Check the service catalogue against the exact role. A healthcare landing page is not evidence that every candidate has experience in your specialty. Ask for a relevant work sample and verify qualifications where the assignment requires them.

Patient-data safeguards

Look for documented training and contractual safeguards, then review access, device and incident processes with your responsible team. A public claim is recorded as a provider statement, not as an independent compliance certification.

Pricing transparency

A useful public price states the amount, unit, eligible role, minimum and any important conditions. Starting prices, full-time-only bands and custom quotes remain labelled as such. Unknown prices are not assigned a guessed value.

Flexibility of commitment

Compare minimum hours, billing cycle, notice and the ability to change a schedule. Distinguish a small monthly-hours plan from a weekly shift commitment. The best fit depends on when your workload occurs.

Hours and continuity

Confirm the proposed working window, time-zone handling, holidays and absence arrangements. A US address is not evidence of continuous US-hours staffing. Round-the-clock shared answering is different from a dedicated scheduled seat.

Replacement arrangements

Ask what triggers a replacement, whether there is a charge, how long matching may take and how ongoing work is covered. Re-matching and same-day substitute cover are separate promises.

Prices and calculations

Prices are taken from the linked provider sources and retain their stated unit. Starting prices stay marked “from”. Package totals are not reduced when fewer hours are selected. Where a source gives no usable price, the result asks for a quote.

Monthly planning equivalents use 52 weeks divided by 12 months. Biweekly packages use 26 billing periods per year. MedicalVirtual is shown only as $8–$12/hour and a live weekly hours-times-rate expression. All estimates exclude separately agreed costs and are not offers.
